Propane Refrigerator - What are Its Benefits?

A propane refrigerator or propane freezer use the heat generated from burning propane to provide cooling for the appliance. This sounds counter-intuitive, but it is made possible by the use of absorption refrigeration technology.

Propane heaters and propane cookers is generally generated from the LPG or the Liquefied Petroleum Gas. It is very apparent, then, that LPG is the one which is well-known and most recognizable to many people. But in terms of using propane to produce cold air in refrigerator or freezer is not that popular compared to appliances that are possibly made through by LPG?s.

Propane generated refrigerators consists of many compartments or units. Two of those important units are the pressurized burner unit and the separator. Upon the process of combustion, the mixture will boils and creates bubbles directed to another unit called the separator.

The ammonia gas and the water are being separated in the separator and passed to the condenser, a section of the apparatus. In the propane fridge condenser, the ammonia gas is cooled down and converted back to pure liquid ammonia.

When the liquid ammonia becomes cooled, it is then, directed the evaporator unit. The liquid ammonia well joined or mixed to hydrogen gas. By the process known as evaporation, the final result is the conversion of ammonia liquid into gas.

Thus, evaporation mainly absorbs heat; net cooling in the separator unit is the result. The last cycle makes or provides cooled temperature in the fridge. When evaporation ends, the complete cooling cycle starts once more. The ammonia gas will moves to the absorber unit.

One important point to keep in mind about propane refrigerators and propane freezers is that they must be kept level. The chief reason for this that in the absence of any moving parts a large part of the mechanism for the absorption cycle depends entirely upon gravity. If everything is not completely level some of these flows can be disrupted.

The lack of moving parts is also a positive feature of a propane refrigerator of propane freezer. They are very reliable due to lacking any moving mechanisms that can suffer from wear. They are also very quiet and run without operation, chiefly due to the absence of any kind of motor in the refrigerator.

One thing to consider with this kind of fridge is that its requirement is to have enough and proper ventilation. This is important to permit the heat to scattered and dispersed during the cooling cycle and process since the propane refrigerator or freezer generates much extreme amount of heat.
